- A fresh coat of paint goes a longgggg way – don’t know what color? White is always a clean easy choice
- Caulking – not only does it keep the water out, it’s also cosmetically enhancing to see nice fresh new caulking that is free from dirt and mold – if you don’t want to bother with grout and caulking – hire the pros such as COIT – this company helps restore and clean the areas of the home that often need it most
- Organize your closets & drawers – time to declutter – this is the perfect time to donate those clothes you’ve been hanging on to forever, and eat your way through the items you keep overflowing in your pantry – here is some further info from the City of Vancouver on donating household items
- Baseboards – time to finally wipe the crooks and crannies of your home (other areas you might have forgot about include: behind/under appliances, under sinks, fans, shelves, window sills)
- Walls – a magic eraser does wonders on those scuffs and fingerprints
- Hire a home inspector – find out what’s going to show up before it does show up – this will help you rectify any issues found ahead of time
- Pressure wash your outdoor spaces and clean both the inside and exterior of your windows – Shack Shine offers great services for cleaning up the exterior of your home
- Landscaping – rake the leaves, plant the flowers, cut the grass…
- Hire a cleaner – if this is a tenanted property, ask if the tenants are ok with you paying for a cleaning company – this also helps ensure that you don’t have to rely on the tenants to “tidy” up or clean
